“If you are depressed you are living in the past.
If you are anxious you are living in the future.
If you are at peace you are living in the present.”
Lao Tzu
Sometimes this quote is easier said than done. It’s even more true now with so much pain going in our local and global communities. The quarantine has given many of us more time to be quiet and reflect, which can encourage us to ponder about past pain and trauma. A few ways to work through this is through yoga, meditation and reiki. Schedule a reiki session with us today or join our upcoming training this weekend.
I also recently took the Moderna vaccine because I want to not only protect myself but also my daughter, my family and generations to come. I know there could always be side effects and that I won’t be here forever. I do my best to stay prepared and encourage our community to be prepared for the future. Sometimes that means sitting and breathing, taking a financial wellness class or even estate/final arrangements planning. I’m personally thinking about the option where your remains become a tree. Or I may go the traditional route and order yogi approved caskets from memorials.com
Taking active steps to strengthen our financial, physical and mental health can help to reduce anxiety and worry. This can also help us to appreciate the present and appreciate the time we have with our loved ones now. When we focus on the past and future, we miss the beauty that’s right in front of us. Give yourself permission to look up, to pause and to find even a little bit of joy each day.
