Stress is All Around Us

Many of us will find ourselves feeling stressed and anxious at various points in our lives, and there can be a few different reasons as to why this happens. It could be that you are facing financial hardships, and worrying about making ends meet. It might be that your relationship is under strain and you may be thinking about divorce. It could be stress from work, it might be worrying about the current situation. Sometimes you need a professional to step in and to consider things like counseling where places like Bluesky Psychology could help. Many talking therapies can help you to work out the situations that are causing you stress but it is worth remembering that stress can hit us at any time, so how can we overcome it. Here are three ways to do it.

Just breath and slow down

First of all, just take a breath. Stress feeds off your overactive mind, so don’t give it what it needs to worsen. Take a moment, slow right down, and just concentrate on your breathing for a moment. You will start to notice that your heart rate starts to decrease and this is when you can put some thought back into what is causing you to feel this way. You may find that just taking that moment will allow you to refocus and get back to it.

Try out exercise

Another way to beat stress is exercise. It may be that you really don’t feel like it, but putting on your runners and heading out for a gentle jog in the fresh air can really lift your spirits and take some of the stress away. Of course, exercise does not resolve the issue, but it can help you refocus your mind and think a little clearer about actions that could help.

Consider meditation

Meditation is a great way to destress your mind. It is an exercise that purely focuses on your breathing and mindset. It takes some practice at first, but it could be the perfect way to help you let go of some of the things that are causing you to feel stressed. If it is something you haven’t tried before, then maybe some guided meditation could be the way to go. There are also plenty of tutorials and videos online to help you get started.

Let’s hope that some of these tips help you to find calm.
